If you have a website and are looking to get it to the top of the search engines organically then I want to give you some SEO help for the internet newbie. Before we go any further let's make sure you understand what SEO or search engine optimization is. This process is a very complex process of getting your website to show up whenever someone is looking for your type of niche. And, the better you are at it the quicker you can get your web page to the top of the search engines. But if you are new then you need some SEO help and that's where I come in. The first piece of SEO help and advice you need to do is find out what keywords people are searching for. And, the best way to do this is head to Google and take a look at their newest keyword tool. When you search with this tool you will get a list of varying keywords that others are trying to find. For instance, if you are in the 'knitting' niche then you will also find 'how to knit', 'knitting patterns', 'knitting supplies' and so forth. Look for variations that have at least 5,000 searches per month and less than 25,000 searches per month. Why? This is an easier group of keywords to wrap your website around and get great search engine rankings.
With your keywords in hand you need to create multiple web pages with each keyword as the title. This piece of SEO help and advice has served me well over the years. By having ten websites with ten different keywords that are searched 5,000 times per month I have a constant supply of 50,000 or more natural searches each month. And if I follow my own SEO help and advice I should be at the top of Google's search engines in no time flat.
The second and final bit of SEO help and advice I will give you is to take the same keywords and start a blog with each of them. You can post the same articles in each blog but make sure that the hyperlink points back to your main website. This will be picked up by the search engines and increase the organic rank of your main business website.
Finally, and I lied because I'm going to give you one more bit of SEO help and advice, you need to make Squidoo lenses with each of your keywords as well. The search engines love this web 2.0 product and the combination of a blog, a squidoo lens and the website itself will get the SEO score of your website up in no time at all. The important thing to remember is that SEO help is a moving target. What works this month will not do as well next month as the internet adjusts.
